Leading up to the MSP Summit, I spoke with Moovila CEO Mike Psenka about how his company’s project management can benefit MSPs and their customers. The biggest way, he said, is to provide reliable scheduling by getting dates right in its software.

“I think project management has always been kind of a thorn in the foot of a lot of MSPs,” Psenka said. “What happens to make projects go sideways? It’s no secret that the PSA platforms out there have inadequate project management platforms and there’s no end in sight for that to get resolved. It's sort of a big problem.”

He said Moovila’s platform gives MSPs “dates you can trust. When you have crappy dates in the system, you get bad scheduling. Scheduling becomes frustrating, and frustrating customers damages credibility. So if you were to pick one thing that we're fixing for MSPs, it's giving them good dates on their projects.”

Psenka said in our interview that while AI undeniably has benefits, it is also often overhyped – especially around its ability to do the jobs of humans.

“It's not the be-all and end-all,” he said. “We get the hype. And there's no penalty for these CEOs of these companies hyping it, because they're not being penalized for saying ‘it's everything, it’s amazing, it's perfect. It's going to do everything.’ Because that increases their valuation and their equity and their stock in that business. So there’s no downside for them.

“It is a little irresponsible, because it's scaring the crap out of the public at large, to make them think that they're all going to be irrelevant and their jobs are going to be gone. It's certainly going to have an impact. It's certainly going to change the landscape of work, make no mistake. But there's a middle way with it.”
