AI Infrastructure Partnership Picks up Aligned Data Centers for $40B

The AI Infrastructure Partnership – a group that includes Nvidia, Blackrock, Microsoft, and xAI – acquired Texas-headquartered Aligned Data Centers for $40 billion in a deal to boost AI infrastructure. With 50 data center sites and 5 GW of available capacity, Aligned is one of the world’s largest data center providers with locations across the U.S. and Latin America. The Coming AI Economic Gap

Artificial intelligence is advancing faster than the economy can adapt — and its growth may outpace the market’s ability to sustain it. Channelnomics analyst Larry Walsh describes the recent Oracle–OpenAI deal as having both the promise and peril of the current artificial intelligence boom. The announcement vaulted Larry Ellison back into the ranks of the world’s richest individuals and positioned OpenAI as a presumptive leader in AI infrastructure services. Data backup and recovery vendor Veeam has unveiled a new Veeam Data Cloud for MSPs offering which aims to deliver multi-tenant SaaS services to MSPs and their customers. Survey Highlights Microsoft 365 Data Protection Challenges

A survey by MSP platform vendor Syncro found that as Microsoft 365 environments grow more complex, many MSPs are struggling to unify data protection, identity management and baseline security. According to Syncro’s 2025 Industry Survey on Microsoft 365 Management, 29% of MSPs have experienced a preventable client data loss incident that could have been avoided with dedicated backup. The survey also found 40% cite operational complexity and lack of integrated tools as their top Microsoft 365 management challenge, 28% review or update security baselines after incidents occur and 18% of technician time is spent managing user access and credential issues. AppDirect Wants to be One-Stop-Shop for Partners

The B2B commerce company AppDirect has set a goal of generating $1 billion in gross annual recurring revenue within the next two years. To help fulfill that goal, AppDirect has added three new “tech wheels” as part of its expansion goals: AI, hardware and logistics, and energy and has stocked up on IT asset management, energy brokerage and agentic AI capabilities.
