Oracle defends infrastructure spending spree amid mounting AI demand

According to IDC, the emergence of a massive AI infrastructure investment wave is driving tech spending around the world at a rate that has not been seen since the introduction of Windows 95 in 1995. Broadcom Bulges with Anthropic, AI Orders

Broadcom’s custom chip and AI-related businesses continue to surge, with the vendor touting a significant chip deal and expansion with Anthropic and a new unnamed customer. Broadcom CEO Hock Tan also said the company has a $73 billion backlog of AI-related orders coming out of its latest fiscal year. Tan told investors during the vendor’s latest earnings call that Anthropic was the previously unnamed customer that had signed a $10 billion custom-chip deal earlier this year. That deal was for Anthropic to purchase Google’s latest Ironwood tensor processing unit (TPU), which is being designed and sold by Broadcom. Nutanix Pushes Sovereign Cloud in Swipe at VMware

Nutanix is taking a pop at VMware – again – as it unwraps features that it says allow customers to run distributed sovereign clouds. Nutanix claims its Cloud Platform now gives orchestrated lifecycle management of multiple dark-site environments, along with on-premises deployment options for governance and control planes.
