This year’s MSP Summit will feature an expanded line-up of technology media professionals who will be covering the event to capture the growing influence managed service providers have in the $5.4 trillion global IT market.
The Sept. 15-17 MSP Summit in Orlando, Fla., will showcase several of the channel's most influential podcast hosts, including Joe Pannone (aka Joey Pinz), Paco Lebron and Doug Green, who will bring unique perspectives and industry expertise to attendees and sponsors alike.
“As a champion for the next generation of MSPs, I see this expanded media presence as a platform to elevate the stories that often go untold — the nimble builders, the community leaders, and the change makers shaping the future of managed services,” Lebron said of bringing his podcast to the MSP Summit.
Joey Pinz: Discipline as a Foundation for Success
Pannone, host of the "Joey Pinz Discipline Conversations" podcast, has built a reputation for exploring how discipline intersects with business success in the technology sector. His podcast regularly features conversations with industry leaders like Mike Psenka (CEO of Moovila), Scott Barlow (Global VP of MSP and Cloud at Sophos), and Ryan Walsh (founding executive of Pax8). He also does podcasts on sports, nutrition, music and other topics.
Pinz's personal journey includes overcoming significant challenges, including a 130-pound weight loss and building a 25-plus year business. His curious nature and questioning approach, developed since childhood, have made his podcast a valuable resource for MSP owners seeking insights on project management, cybersecurity strategies, and vendor relationships.
“When people ask how I lost so much weight, I say ‘Discipline,’” he said. “At the end of the conversation, I say, [hey, how does discipline play a role in your life?’ Every profession, hobby, or passion requires a level of discipline."
He even wrote a book called “Discipline for Greatness” due out in October.
Pannone sold his New Haven, CT-based MSP in 2019 and started his MSPInfluencer podcast in 2023.
“A friend said, you like to ask a lot of questions, annoyingly. Why don't you start a podcast?” Pannone said.
That was four years, around 700 episodes and 750,000 followers ago. He said when he does a tech podcast, he starts off with a personal conversation. “I want to learn about their hobbies and interests, try to make it as human as possible,” he said. “Then we’ll say ‘We’re here at the big MSP Summit event in Orlando, what are some of your goals here this week,’ that kind of thing. I know they want to pitch, but once it seems like a pitch, it's death. So sometimes I have to reel them in a little.”
Paco Lebron: Empowering the Next Generation of IT Entrepreneurs
As CEO and founder of ProdigyTeks Inc., a Chicago-based MSP, Lebron brings practical experience to his role as co-host of the "MSP Unplugged" podcast. Launched in 2015 when Lebron was transitioning from break-fix to the MSP model, the podcast has evolved into a community resource for solo tech shops and emerging MSP owners.
Lebron's journey from side-hustle break-fix operation to award-winning MSP offers a blueprint for many attendees. His accolades include being named ChannelPro Network's 2023 Peer of the Year and features in Negocios Now's "Who's Who in Hispanic Business" (2022) and "Latino 40 Under 40" (2016).
Beyond podcasting, Lebron co-founded TechCon Unplugged, an immersive conference for IT business owners, demonstrating his commitment to industry education. His podcast, co-hosted with Rick Smith of Renactus Technology, covers topics from automation to client management, providing practical guidance for MSPs at all stages.
"At MSP Summit, we are excited to bring a practitioner’s perspective to the media coverage not just as a podcaster, but as someone who’s lived the MSP journey,” he said. “We will be recording live interviews and broadcasting conversations that spotlight emerging MSPs, their challenges, and their wins. It’s a chance to amplify voices that deserve to be heard and to connect the dots between innovation and execution.”
When asked what he considers a great podcast guest, Lebron said, "Someone who’s authentic, insightful, and willing to share both their wins and their lessons. We look for people who aren’t afraid to get real whether they’re seasoned veterans or rising stars in the MSP space.”
Doug Green, Technology Reseller Reporter/Storyteller
Green is a communications technology reporter. He’s done more than 4,000 podcasts and has more than 82,000 subscribers. A regular at technology conferences, he’s done his podcasts from VMware and Cisco GSX in recent weeks.
Value to MSP Summit Attendees and Sponsors
Summit attendees will benefit from the combined expertise of these podcast pioneers, whose platforms have become trusted voices in the channel. Their sessions promise to deliver actionable insights on operational excellence, cybersecurity implementation, and strategic growth—topics they regularly explore with industry leaders on their respective shows.
“The best conversations happen when we go beyond surface-level success stories and dig into the ‘why’ and ‘how,’” Lebron said. “We love exploring the mindset, rollercoaster ride and the community impact behind the business. That’s where the real value lives with those building transparently."
For sponsors, these podcasters represent valuable connections to the MSP community. Their understanding of vendor-partner dynamics, explored in episodes featuring executives from companies like Sophos and Lenovo, positions them as ideal voices to bridge the gap between solution providers and their target audiences.
The participation of podcast hosts underscores the Summit's commitment to featuring authentic voices who understand the daily challenges of running an MSP business. Their presence offers attendees access to the same engaging conversations and practical wisdom that have made their podcasts essential listening for channel professionals.
As the MSP ecosystem continues to evolve, voices who combine practical experience with a talent for extracting valuable insights from industry leaders—will be increasingly valuable to both established and emerging managed service providers navigating today's complex technology landscape.
